Speaker and Meeting Recap:
Our speaker was Captain Carter Conlin, USNR (Ret) the Commander General of the Naval Order of the United States.
The Naval Order has committed to raise funds for a monument to honor those sailors and maritime personnel that lost their lives in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944. The Navy is the only service that is not represented among the more than 60 monuments that honor other services that fought at Normandy. We’re about halfway home on the fund raising but need to get the message out to as many as possible by the end of the year.
