Speaker and Meeting Recap:
Our speaker was LtCol. Gerry W. Leonard, Inspector – Instructor, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines. He updated us on what our Houston Marines were doing during the summer AT period. The Battalion went in many different directions as they provided optemp relief for the active forces in various exercises worldwide. The hope for next summer is to do a Battalion level exercise. The focus of training, however, is on the squad level since that seems to be the predominant level of fighting in the current environment.
