HMAC Monthly Luncheon August 11, 2022

Lieutenant Commander Namon R. Dimitroff

U. S. Coast Guard

LCDR Namon R. Dimitroff assumed the duties as Chief, Emergency Management & Force Readiness for Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston in May 2021.  He is responsible for leading the development, exercise, and implementation of the Sector’s contingency plans, the training and qualification of the Sector’s Incident Management Team under the National Incident Management System framework, and oversees the readiness compliance for 11 subordinate units.

After enlisting in the Coast Guard in March of 2003, he was assigned to CGC Chase in San Diego, CA, followed by MK “A” school, and Aids to Navigation Team, Detroit, MI. In May of 2007, LCDR Dimitroff received his commission from the Coast Guard’s Officer Candidate School. Since then he has served as Command Duty Officer, Sector New Orleans; Chief, Future Operations at Maritime Safety and Security Team New Orleans; Enforcement Branch, Eighth Coast Guard District; Chief, Incident Management at Sector Buffalo; Liaison to Canada’s Maritime Security & Operations Centre; and Deputy Director, U. S. Fleet Forces Command Center (US Navy). 

LCDR Dimitroff holds a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.  His personal awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, The Coast Guard Achievement Medal (6), the Army Achievement Medal, The Commandant’s Letter of Commendation (2), and multiple team and unit awards. He lives in Texas City, TX with his wife, Rebecca, and son, Caylum.
