Captain Teresa Ferry was raised in a Navy family. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in History at Jacksonville University in 1999 and was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer’s Training Corps in May 1999. CAPT Ferry earned her Naval Aviator wings in 2001 and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice: Public Administration in 2016.
CAPT Ferry’s tours include Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Eleven (HS-11); helicopter flight school instructor at Helicopter Training Squadron Eight (HT-8); and Commander, Strike Force Training Atlantic where she served as Flag Secretary prior to separating from the active duty Navy.
CAPT Ferry then joined the Navy Reserve and again served as a helicopter flight school instructor at Helicopter Training Squadron Twenty Eight (HT-28) as a Selected Reservist. In 2010, CAPT Ferry was re-designated as a Full Time Support (FTS) Reserve Officer. Her tours included operations and maintenance department head, Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Fifty Four (VR-54); senior offensive duty officer, Combined Air Operations Center for OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and the close out of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM; sexual assault prevention and response officer for the Navy Reserve; and commanding officer, Navy Operational Support Center Charleston. Most recently CAPT Ferry served as the mobilization and operations policy branch head for the Chief of Navy Reserve and is now commanding officer Navy Reserve Center Houston.
Her personal military decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards).
