Pact Act Benefits

As you may know, last August Congress passed the (Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act) PACT Act because of the association between burn pit exposure among veterans, and certain ailments, including many cancers.  This law makes nearly 3.5 million veterans eligible for care and benefits they have earned.

The PACT expands eligibility to include veterans who served in Vietnam, the Gulf War, and post 9/11 periods.  This expansion also includes 20+ presumptive conditions for burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxins, as well as more presumptive-exposure locations for Agent Orange and radiation.

To view a full list of eligible benefits and get more information about the PACT Act, please visit The PACT Act And Your VA Benefits | Veterans Affairs for more information.  While there is no deadline to submit an application for PACT Act-related claims, submissions completed by August 9, 2023, will be backdated to the date of the bill singing, meaning claims granted will receive retro pay with an effective date of August 10, 2022.
